Had a great time at Loon. The weather was pretty warm relative to some of the previous few weekends of temperatures in the teens. It was snowing Friday night, during the day on Saturday and Sunday. The sun didn't come out for most of the weekend.

My wife (Lulu) and I both started snowboarding this season and I've been out a couple more times than her. We started Saturday around 9:30AM and the lift lines were pretty short (I think this was the earliest I've ever been on the slopes). The first trail we hit was the bunny trail, Snubber. It was one of the better bunny trails I've been on so far. A lot of the bunny trails I've been on are just straight, but this one had a couple of turns. It was good for Lulu who was still a pretty green learner, yet interesting for me who wanted to pratice getting around the bends. After going down Snubber a couple of times, we went over to the Kancamagus Quad and went down the Grand Junction. At this point Lulu took a rest in the lodge. A buddy of mine and I then went down a few blue trails and even hit the terrain park a couple of times. Before I knew it, I was hungry and tired, and I took a look at my watch and it was only 11:30AM! The rest of the day was pretty slow going because I was tired. Eventually Lulu and I left the slopes around 3PM to hit the sauna.

On Sunday we had a later start and we were pretty sore from the day before. Lulu and I started the day on Snubber and then moved over to the Grand Junction. Then we took the gondola up to the Summit. While riding the gondola, Lulu suprised me and said that she wanted to hit one of the blue trails. Luckly one of the people riding with us on the gondola knew the mountain and suggested that we take Lower Picked Rock. So off we went, down the Upper Bear Claw and connected with Lower Picked Rock. Lulu did really well on the blue trail. She has had a fear of picking up speed when she turns and I saw very little evidence of that as she went down the slopes this time. I was so proud. After getting to the bottom, Lulu had this big smile on her face and she wanted to go again. So we took another run. Soon it was 12PM, and we had to leave to get back to NYC. As we were leaving, the snow was coming down pretty good.
