| Lets talk about the NBA Well first off im a Celtics fan, they are hard to watch especially the last few years, kinda spinning their wheels and not going anywhere anytime soon.. What has happened, the Knicks who play in the worlds most famous arena , granted had a few exciting wins at home lately but they are a disaster. A-I going to Denver, that city isnt big enough for him, hes gonna hate it there.. The Western Conference is to the Eastern as the AFC is to the NFC right now but even with more distance inbetween them. You got 8 Cincy Bengals getting arrested this year and everything is ok, but if they were NBA players they would be considered THUGS.. Whats up with this league, the teams??? It was always one of my favorite sports but is now third with only hockey bringing up the rear.. Your thoughts? |

| I'm a Knicks fan...I stopped thinking when it comes to basketball in 1999. My only hope is that Isiah walks the plank soon. As for the thug aspect of sports, the NFL has a teflon coating regarding these matters. It helps that NFL players bodies are covered by their uniform which covers the tattoos. NBA uniforms do not offer that protection. I think it also helps that NFL players can't get into the bleachers to attack fans, that they wear pads so that fights are just silly looking, and that alot of what they say can't be heard. Again, the NBA has no such advantage. The NFL won't draft high school players. To me that is the difference that makes the NBA more prone to stupid behavior. Alot of very immature young men in the NBA. The whole gun thing is dumb...so gangsta. Owning a gun and even better, shooting it off in public is fashionable. Guess what? That's a reflection on American values. Don't blame it on any one segment of our society like the NBA. |

| On a basketball court they look like thugs. A lot has changed since the bird and magic days and not for the better. Now its all about me, me, me and for a change they throw an I into the mix. I watched the last 2 minutes of the celtics loss last night and what a disgrace, Red must be rolling over in his grave. Down by 1 with about 20 seconds get the ball to Pierce at the top of the key, 4 guys converge with the remaining defender under the basket. Time expires while he trys his darndest to spin through the lane. What about the other 4 open guys on the team. That play speaks volumnes about the NBA of today. |

| I dont follow pro sports, however, I do feel that they (NFL/NBA/NHL/MLB) need to instill a no tollerance policy. You get caught with/doing drugs, guns, fighting etc..buh-bye...no more over-paid salaries for playing a game.....

| Brett i would talk about Hockey but its the only major sport i know nothing about.. Good points Jim, i never thought about how the NFL uniform and pads and what not covers up all the Tats and probably alot of players images. David Stern usually gets recognized as the best Commish in all of sports i hope he has a plan. |

| I think that in the nfl, a sport where players are praised for their ability to hit hard and be extremely physical, a certain amount of agression is expected to carry over into incidents after a play has ended. Granted the NBA is a physical league, but clearly nowhere near as physical as the NFL.

| The Celtics have been at least entertaining the last two years. The Bruins are on their way back but the strike & then a TV deal on OLN (who has this?) was just dumb, they needed access to the public. I don't see a bunch of kids in hockey jerseies & Camo pants demanding " I want my OLN TV" Football players go into the stands to attack 60,000 drunks, that's just absurd, football players may be beasts but they ain't stupid!
