New England Hundred Highest Cheat Sheet

Hey everyone, in case any of you are working on/thinking of working on the NEHH list I put together a map showing where all the darned peaks are. I don't think there is anything on the net like this, hopefully it can be used as a useful resource by some of you.

Nicely done. My 1972 AMC Guide lists 46. Galehead added in April, "77", I believe. Got to check to see which one became # 48. ( I have too much free time, sometimes.)

West bond was #48, not sure when though.

I was thinking it was Bondcliff so it's likely one of the Bonds. I'll see if I can do some research, I think it's either in F&C or a peakbagging book I have.

Thanks for the replies. By the way, has the info in the guides changed that much ? Dumb question, I guess - it has been a very long time.

Depends on which edition you are using.

the only MAJOR difference in any of the new releases is the closure of Cabot trail (west approach to Mt Cabot) due to an ongoing dispute. People however still use this trail even tho one of the internal plots of land (not trail head) has closed it off. This is still a very hot topic.

But for older editions who knows... Galehead and West Bond (both formerly trail less) have been added to the "Formerly NH46, now NH48". I think relative to older editions Owl's head now has a more formal trail (formerly a herd path), so do the Hancocks. Both of which have absolutely dreadful - steep trails because they started out as herd paths.

Very nice work, so please pardon a nitpick: I don't see Bigelow West Peak, which Topozone cites as 4150 (which it always used to be) but the USGS map shows as 4145.
Climbed it twice, both long ago when it was 4150.

I think the 4150 is from an older survey.. I thought I saw something a year or two ago that had North Brother in BSP as being a few feet higher & now believed to be higher than Bigelow West Peak. North Crocker in one list I saw was near 4200 feet also.
