I do like the rankings. If I am asking for advice, or lurking and watching to learn, I'll know how active a person is on this forum. I'll also know when a troll is trolling, and answer (or not) accordingly. There is something to be said for how much one posts to identify his/her committment level to the sport and this forum.

Still more hiking geered. I think the pictoral rankings are fine w/o words, that way they are good for either hiking or skiing.
