Ski Sundown 3/24/07

Date(s) Skied: 3/24/07

Resort or Ski Area: Sundown

Conditions: Loose granular, corn, slush

Trip Report: I only got in 4 runs today after work at around 2:30. The sun was out and had been shining all day for the most part, a really nice day to be out doing anything... especially skiing...

I'm sure anyone who's been following my Sundown reports can predict that all 4 of my runs were down the bumps on Nor'Easter, which seemed even more defined than ever and very very soft. It looked like there were a few lines to choose from. No thin spots where I skied at all. The only spots that I spied were in the terrain park in the landing areas for the features.

I wish I had time to make more runs, but family obligations called... I fear those may have been my last runs of the season...

you have a damn good and wonderful reason to stop skiing for the year. you dont want to be away when it gets into the last couple of months. never know what can happen.

but think how much you got in this year and how much you improved. You arent even recognizable to me as far as skiing goes when i think about our trip to hunter last year. tons and tons of improvement.

Agreed. A new skier for sure. This season I've seen you make some pretty damn fast and aggressive turns on the groomers. Nice turns too, nothing sloppy about them. This translated into you attempting and making serious strides in the bumps in a short period of time. I've also seen you attempt some more technical terrain including a few little drops and tree areas at the Beast. You've come a long way this season and should be happy with your progress.

Actually, we're just kissing your ass to make you feel better about this being the possible end of your season....

Thanks for the kind words. I know there's good reason for me to be home now, and it'll be nice to spend more time with my wife and daughter anyway. It's hard for me to face the music when my season comes to an end though, especially this year knowing that those nice soft bumps are up there just begging to be skied.

BTW, I am happy with my progress, but that just makes me want to ski even more so that I can get even better..

Nice pic! That makes me really psyched to rip those up tomorrow afternoon! Spent a few hours up there today with my daughter. Very slushy and big puddles at the base, but the trails look side-to-side.
