LGR - summit
LGR-WET - base

For a south facing Mt. in Southern VT, a very respectible base. Temps about 40F summit and base all day. No winds, cloudy. Felt like midweek crowd. Most of the families with kids were missing. More empty tables than full. Lots of good trails all over, blacks and blues were in good shape. The best tails were the blues marked "think cover". Bromley is extremely conservative in their trail markings. Most all trails were still open except for a couple blues. The greens were starting to get a bit wet toward the base - bring your wet wax or you'll brake at the base.
Not many brown spots to be seen. Suggests they made a boatload of snow.
One black had some monster moguls, but all were manageable now that they are loosened up from the warmth.
Running 2 quads, plus the beginner area and one double. Lifties had so little to do they were passing a football for hours and the occassional snowball fight.

I liked the ambience of the lodge. First time there. check out the trophies over the fireplace. Very down to earth and old-timey inside.

They must have a lot of theft in the food service line - hoodlums and punks from metro I suppose. Food was suprisingly expensive.

Convenience of lodge and it's rambling architecture lead me to call it funky. It was fun and interesting.

Proponderance of "rag tops" (helmet-less skiers). I'd say the most knit hats on skiers I've seen in the last few years.

Someone should have warned me about the dropoff pickup protocol for cars across the street. But on a warm day like yesterday, it was no problem walking. I did forget about "mud season" it's already begun in the parking lot.

Geeze, Bromely must make a fortune over cell phone repeaters, they were popping up all over the trailside.

Very enjoyable, though
I was very disappointed they had blocked, roped access to all their woods: "closed' extremely conservative management.

Sit on the deck, close your eyes, you'll think you are in Colorado. You'll have a great time there for the next week or two.

thanks for the report and pics. bromley is a personal favorite of mine. I would guess it was either havoc or stargazer that had the monster moguls. My only real complaint ever is that when they dont run the east side quad, you have to slog your way back over a long traverse to get back to the base area. other then that, if you keep in mind it isnt stowe or some huge hill, the place is a ton of fun.

If you're talking about "Blue ribbon chair", a quad, it was operating all day Sunday. I got so many runs in over there (I honestly lost count), this old man had to crash for a while on deck.

Love the mountain...great ski area with some fun terrain (havoc).

I was there the saint patty's day storm and they got like 15 inches. They had decent snowcover before this and the glades did not open. We just ducked every one of them. They were amazing with great cover. I think they opened them up the next day though.
