| Apr 1 Sugarbush April 1 2007 Sugarbush Sunny-Cloudy mid 40's Spring Conditions My buddy picked me up at 3PM Saturday afternoon and started the trek to SB. After hitting some traffic in CT, we had first pint in hand at the Phonenix at 9:30PM. A few more pints and a burger, we thought it might be a good idea to try to find lodging for the night (now midnight) So we headed back down the Access Road to The Lion (King M's place) and he hooked us up with a great room with breakfast for a great price as well, thanks King M... Awoke Sunday to sunny skies, a plate full of Blueberry Pancakes and warm temps. We were on the Bravo Quad at 8:05am..conditions were firm and FAST, wow, fast....sunny blue-bird day, spring gloves, sunglasses, vest...we made our way over to Heavens Gate lift but it wasnt open yet and the 2 stoner lifites were just sitting there not even acknowledging my questions of how much longer we'd have to wait (my watch read 8:57) so we skiied down to the CR Double and checked that out...CR was loaded with bumps which i love, but it was early and they were still bullet-proof hard, they were doable, but not enjoyable...(not yet, the sun needed to do her magic) so we headed back to Bravo to Heavens to the Summit putting the CR trails on the 'to do' list later that afternoon...skiied the summit unitl 11:15 then took the interconnect to Ellen..great time in the Bravo woods, Exterminator (all bumps) FIS (really bumpy on the left)...honestly, every corner we skiied around we got bumps..we were loving it!!!! Couldnt believe how good the trees were up top, we hit it countless times...headed back over to the main mtn around 2 as our legs needed a good rest...shot back to CR for CR Run and Middle Earth, both great classic narrow, windy bumpy New England trails..then hit the Mall and Steins several more times....caught the last chair up and ended the season zippering The Mall, quads were screaming in exhaustion, but i figured i could rest them on the beach this summer!! Great day, kudos to SB on the new base, its beautiful.. more pics to follow
