Mount Snow 4/14

Date(s) Skied: 4/14/07

Resort or Ski Area: Mount Snow

Conditions: Spring Conditions

Trip Report:

My usual Mount Snow report will follow...

Was on the hill around 10 today. Suprised at how many cars in the lot...

Lifts running were the Summit Express and Challenger Triple on the North Face. I sampled Exhibition top to bottom, Lodge, and Canyon to Standard to Illusion all the on the Main Face first. Sweet corn snow.... gotta love it.

Dove over the North Face for a few runs before lunch. Fallen Timbers was first. It was groomed flat and was beautiful. Chute had the fresh cement and was more of a challenge. Freefall was incredable and was good for two runs...

After a couple pieces of pizza in the main lodge I went back over to the North Face for the more challenging runs... I did Upper and Lower Challenger which continue to have great natural snow... Plummet was in good shape, getting bumpy. Runs of the day were Jaws and Ripcord... Jaws was suprisingly flat and you can could rip out the hero turns top to bottom. Ripcord was suprisingly soft and skier's left and right were choice... actually had a mini-avalanche come down behind me on my first run - a true show if it's pitch.

Headed back to the front for a few runs to finish up. South Bowl had opened up and was nice. Did a reserved Ridge wasn't so wise of a choice. 4 inches of untouched was a broken leg waiting to happen. Last run was down Ledge top to bottom, the best its been all year.... never a let down.

Pictures: Illusion, Jaws, Ripcord
