| Kmart Sunday 4/15 Date(s) Skied: 4/15 Resort or Ski Area: Killington Conditions: powder/early scratch Trip Report: This is getting absurd. Started my day around 9:30 on wildfire. Not enough snow had falled yet to soften it up real nice but still ok. Bear mustve been springlike yesterday cause Devils Fiddle and OL were closed when i got there. Frozenish death cookies could be seen on OL. Anyway, met up with powhunter and his buddy and started over towards the skyeship to find better snow. Hit vertigo early, still kinda hard from yesterdays thaw and headed up over to skye peak. Awesome bumps on Skyehawk. Soft and decent lines with pow on the edges where there werent bumps. Hit that a few times then up the k1 to powerline. wow, nice soft pow bumps and natural hits everywhere. West glade was so easy it was funny. you could just about straightline the bumps and just explode each mogul. soft pow in the troughs. hit that a few times. also hit supe headwall, sweet. huge drifts skiers left between biggish bumps. great. lost powhunter and his buddy in the whiteout and ended up hitting escapade to flume Unreal. went back over and hit vertigo a few times along with upper needles and needles liftline. almost untouched on skiers right of upper vertigo. boot to shin deep. lower vertigo had sweet zippers on it. what a day. last run was supposed to be wildfire but i took a detour down roundabout instead. Hit some woods runs between the falls brook twists. nothin any of you crazy tree skiers would consider much but it was a fun way to end. drive home was about as much fun as having your nuts in a vice but i made it. |
