It was indoors, in China. Even though the surface was loose granular (and only about 4 inches deep), and the slope was only about 300 meters, it didn't matter. It was indoors, and it was in China. Hiked the Great Wall in the morning, and skied at night. Not a bad day.

The place has two slopes, one served by a magic carpet that was barely steep enough to get all the way down, and the other with a Poma lift that was steep enough to get some speed, but not very long- 4 turns, and you're done. Or, it'd be 4 turns if the skis had had any edge to them, or if the boots had been made of anything stronger than paper mache. Still, indoors, and in China. Only about $30 for 1.5 hours, skis adn boots, though I did have to buy gloves, for a whopping $2.
