There will be a bunch or improvements this summer . . . new beginner hill, new learning center, new rental shop, MAYBE new trails off of burnt ridge (although that might be delayed until next year).

I'm going up this weekend, 6/9, so I'll take some pictures for you. Otherwise:

I copied this from another ski forum. I have no idea how accurate it is.

They are putting in the small triple at the bottom of the Ski Bowl this summer. They are also supposed to start cutting the trails on Burnt Ridge (between Twister and Tahawus). They are also converting the old gondola building into the rental/nursery/leaning center. This will open up the base lodge which has been over crowded on most weekends for the past few years. They are also upgrading the capacity of the snowmaking.

Next summer they are supposed to install a HSQ on Burnt Ridge and a HSQ out of the base of the Ski Bowl. The Ski Bowl lift will some how allow a connection to the Burnt Ridge HSQ. The skiing in Burnt Ridge is high intermediate and low expert. The top of the Burnt Ridge HSQ will also provide access to the existing Gore base.

I checked Skilifts.org forum and only found a link to an article that speculated that they would only be replacing a lift this summer. Said link was broken as the newspaper it was linked to has already deleted the article, but nothing was said to indicate that a new lift would be going in there. D/TEC and Leitner/Poma have both released their installation lists for the year and neither state a new lift going in at Gore. Although things can change midway through the year (as it has happened before).

Curved Ski Poles n. 1. Expert skier's poles bent at the factory to fit around the body and thus improve control and reduce air resistence. 2. Beginner's poles bent during use to fit around trees, trail signs, snowmaking equipment, lift towers, and other skiers.

Yep . . this is all true . . . At least according to the Mailer I got this past week.

Also, the new triple being installed for the upcoming winter down at the Ski bowl will serve a brand new lighted Terrain Park and Halfpipe (something Gore has not had since they tore down that Joke of a pipe 3 years ago)

any plans to upgrade the parking situation? after the 2/14 storm cars were parked all along the access road and surely some people were turned away. But the only real lift lines was at the base and the gondola line was moving along all day. ... wait maybe thats alright?.
