Breakneck Ridge 07/22/07

If anyone is interested, we're planning on hiking Breakneck Ridge this coming Sunday, really good challenging hike. Go here for a reports our last hikes:

Breakneck Ridge 07/15/07

Breakneck Ridge 07/01/2007

We plan on being in the parking lot by about 9 AM an most likely just doing a short hike, which would be the Breakneck Ridge Trail to Breakneck Bypass and then down Wilkinson back to the bottom. Or if anyone is adventurous we can to the hike all the way to South Beacon Mountain. More rock scrambling there and supposedly some great views. Below is a map of the trails and a graph of our last hike.

Oh and a nice pic of the Ridge found on the net:

I'm in either way. If you can start about an hour earlier you will avoid a lot of the crowds. If you are up to a through hike to Beacon, It's about 4-6 hour hike with killer views the last hour. If you made Sunset point, you were just short of the fun stuff.

Here's my problem, I will have enough trouble getting my wife out of bed in time to get up there for 9. Myself, I'd have no problem with 8, but can't leave my wife behind. We may also have another couple join us, so for now I'm just planning the short loof and figure we'll see how everyone feels once we get to the Breakneck Bypass Trail, if they want to continue we can.

That said, if you still want to join us, cool, always nice meeting someone new from AZ. If not, I can understand

However you guys want it. I can roll out of bed at 8:45 and still be there on time with a cup of coffee in hand. I am heading over to Ellenville afterwards to fly, so a short hike is fine.

I hate you!

9 AM in the big parking lot? I'll be in a red Honda Civic.

Nope! Had to work that day. Looks like the weather for Sunday will be perfect. Clear skies, mild temps and a slight breeze.

The reason I asked is cause there was one guy that was flying down the rocks, me and my wife thought it might have been you. For now, it's me, my wife and probably two other couples, hope we don't slow you down too much.
