MRG work days

Quote:
2007 Schedule:
Date at 9 AM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday, August 11 Hike Regeneration Zone maintenance
Saturday, August 25 Hike Regeneration Zone maintenance, and some cutting
Saturday, September 22 Hike Line Maintenance
Sunday, October 7 Lift Line Maintenance
Saturday, October 27 Hike Line Maintenance

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meet at 9 am in the Base Area at the Cricket Club picnic table.
We're back down at 3:30 - 4 pm.
Most of the time we hike from the base, so be prepared to hike.
We always go, rain or shine. If it is raining, it is more of an adventure.
I was thinking of doing Sept. 22. I could probably do any of the last 3 though. Anyone interested?

I have never done one before, but from what I understand you clean lines in the woods, work on re-vegetation areas, and other random trail work.

I did one last year. Lots of fun. Expect to work a full 6+ hours with hiking. Loppers are the preferred tool for line days, small hand saw not a bad idea. FWIW, after gas and six hours of work the free ticket is worth less than minimum wage so it is hardly a financial score if you are just looking for a free ticket. I will almost definitely be there for Green & Gold weekend on the 7th. I would like to do a regen day this year and may go for the 11th if it isn't blistering hot out.

Bump. I'm not going tomorrow but I could still do either of the last two. Anyone?

(Also, I would probably camp up in the area saturday night and do a hike sunday, if anyone is interested)

So this means that you are doing the 27th? Since the 7th is a Sunday. I really hope there will be skiing somewhere in New England by the 27th, but if not I will probably end up at MRG. I'll need to pick up my season pass at some time anyway.

(Yes, I know the chance of there being skiing on the 27th are around 1/10, but I still have hope.)

I might be down for one of the last two Austin. I def. wouldn't do it for financial reasons though, since I might end up with a pass there anyway...
