| Walk for Burn Survivors - Charles River 10/14/07 For background see: news about pedxing... You are invited to join in walk around the Charles River for Burn Survivors and/or come to the reception (free food and inexpensive beer at the American Legion Marsh Post on the Charles at Gerry'S Landing in Cambridge) on October 14 (Walk starts at 10AM, reception at noon). Donations are also appreciated. Links below. We are also raffling off some Patriots tickets for the Eagles Game (section 339 - not great seats, but supporting a great cause). Some of you know why I organized a walkathon for the Phoenix Society for Burn Survivors but here's the story: I was badly burned early in 2004 and was temporarily disabled. During my difficult year, I got great support from fellow backpackers, family and friends. But I also came in contact with the Phoenix Society for Burn survivors. I experienced incredible support, love and generosity from them in that year. Since then I've devoted a lot of my time, effort and passion to giving back. In the process, I got another gift: a cause I care passionately about and a connection to an amazing group of people. One of the bigger projects I took on was organizing a Walkathon. Last year we had a walk around the Charles River (a beautiful walk in the fall). Anyhow, donations are very much welcomed. Anyone who can make it is welcome to come for the walk and/or the reception. Information: https://www.phoenix-society.org/ways...burnsurvivors/ Donation link: https://www.phoenix-society.org/waystogive/donations/ Please select 2007 Walkathon for Burn Survivors as the time of donation and "tribute or memorial" gift - then pledge to team PedXing.
