Aren't there some places out in the midwest that do not do this? Is this a North American thing? Just dumb questions.......

I lived in Arizona for a short time in the late 80s...if I remember right, they don't go to Daylight Savings in the summer.

I guess when it's 95 degrees out in the evening you want the sun to go down sooner rather than later.

Don't forget to also set the Timezone in your Profile to "GMT -5 Hours".
