Do I remember how to do this?

That is always the last thought that goes thru my mind before pushing off into a new season of skiing. The answer came quickly today, and it is yes. Mansfield got some last night so I headed up. Got to the lot and saw snow at the top of the race pitch on Gondi. Off I went, skis on my back. About half way up there was a good few inches of heavy snow and so I put the skis on my feet. Accumulation was really elevation dependent. At the top there was 2-5", pleny for the R2 prototypes to plane up on. I skiied Gondi to about half way down, and seemed to remember just fine. Lake effect machine is operational. And so it begins...

Hmm... Friday is sounding tempting if they can pick up some upslope snow in the next few days.

More snow overnight. Top few hundred feet were a nice dense 6-10. lapped that a few times then down to the lot. Life is great.

Sorry. No camera. Imagine a blanket of white, edge to edge, undulating with the subtle rolls of the intermediate terrain of Gongolier and Perry Merril. Snow falling...low dark clouds. Snow devils swirling just ahead of you and your are skinning, skinning, skinning. Then you rip skins, drop your amber lenses, clip you buckles and start sliding thru virgin snow. Speed builds, gortex flutters, snow whooshes as you drop a knee for a LONG carve. repeat. Can you see it?
