Cannon 12/4/07

Oh boy, what a day it was!! Cannon ended up with 10-12 inches of snow, and the really 'good' snow fell overnight. When I left at around 3:30, it was starting to snow again, forecast is calling for another 1-3 inches overnight.

But to the point, light fluffy powder! Hardly anyone there, skied with two of my friends we never had to wait in line for a chair! The ropes were dropped on Zoomer, Paulie's Folly, and Avalanche. They all were GREAT!! Of course there were occasional rocks and thin spots, but you could pick them out, and there was plenty of powder to ski! We spent the morning going back and forth on those trails.

After a short break for lunch, we took the Peabody Express up and skied down to Paulie's Extension, this was lean back on your tails and fly snow! Skiers left on this trail was just great! To finish off the run we skied over to Parkway, and consistently found great powder!
Did this run about five times, it was just so much fun. I can't remember the last time I really laughed out loud while skiing!

As the day went on, the powder remained light, even the stuff that got pushed around into mounds you punch right through!! Ice made its appearance only in a few spots (mostly trail junctions)

My only regret is that I forgot the memory card for the camera! Oh well, I'll go back tomorrow!
