Yeah, a foot of untracked on top of a decent base IS something to get emotional about.
A foot of untracked on top of frozen grass and rocks? Be sure to stock up on p-tex and pray not to blow out an edge.
I'd pick Sunapee or Loon - they have been laying down some good, old fashion, high water content man made.
