| Snowmaking Has Begun at Burke Last night's cold weather also allowed for Burke to begin snowmaking I went up to the mtn this morning to snap some shots for chairlift.org and was greeted by piles of fresh manmade snow in front of the Sherburne (Lower) Lodge. They blew snow on the J-Bar slope and in front of the double (base landing) as well as on Lower Willoughby between the Double Chair and the Quad. They were heading out for the day when I arrived at 12 noon. My source, who just began working snowmaking at the mountain, said that the plan was to begin on the lower mountain before working Lower Warren's (the training slope) opening the Poma. This is a departure from the normal open the Poma and Lower Warren's, connect Upper Willoughby to Lower Bear Den and over to Warren's before going to the bottom. Maybe they are going after a different clientele? eep doing the snowdances!!!
