Video Ski Sundown - 12/26/2007

Date(s) Skied: Wednesday, 12/26/2007, 9 am - 12:15 pm

Resort or Ski Area: Ski Sundown, Connecticut

Conditions: Fresh groomed manmade and LSGR on the flats. Some dry, some wet manmade, hardpack, ice & dirt in the bumps.

Trip Report: Today was to be a quick hitter on the bumps. Got started at 9 am and noticed the bumps on Nor'easter were starting to shape up nicely. Too bad for the rain the other day. They would be in great shape otherwise.

Nonetheless, they were coated with fresh snowmaking, but in some spots it was very wet and tacky snow that would tend to grab your skis. The lines started to ski in as the morning progressed though and the late morning runs with the sun starting to hit NE were especially nice. Skied with bvibert most of the day and several runs also with MrMagic. Nice guy and a great skier.

So....Nor'easter surived the rain event and with some more snowmaking it should snap back nicely. Great session.

Got a bunch of vid, but probably won't get it worked up until later tonight.

Glad to hear that NE is in good shape with some help from the snow making. We were there on Monday and NE was solid ice.

Nice day, I was kinda bummed that I had to cut it a little short to work... Nor'easter was kinda tricky in the morning, but got skied in pretty quick. All in all they faired well through all the rain and were able to resurface nicely.

Can't wait to see the footage from the new camera. I'll try to put up what I got in a bit.

No real deep troughs, some are a bit slick in spots though. Watch out for the occasional brown trough though...

Nice. Thanks. I was hoping to get another day or two on them before the troughs get too deep. I'm hoping to improve a bit day by day as the bumps get bigger and troughs get deeper. I'm looking forward to some bumps tomorrow.

You guys should have a good day tomorrow. The bumps were worked in pretty good by the time I took my last run down them around 1:30ish I guess it was. I wish I could join you guys, unfortunately I got suckered into working during the day tomorrow so say hi if you see me....

Thanks for the report Greg. Hey...didn't you get a pair of Dynastars recently? I haven't heard much about them.
