Weather enough to justify washing the car yesterday - ton of Catskill road sand & salt that usually says to central Joisyites "SKER" is now off the vehicle. Hey, it still looks shiny....

Just got back from Hidden Valley in Vernon, NJ, it was about 60 degrees. It was fun (this is not sarcasm) slaloming around the bare patches and skimming over the slush spots. It looks like another couple of days and we'll be back to winter. Can't wait.

I stand corrected...Ullr's not taking a breather, he's just out of town for the moment.

Let's just hope it's not an extended trip...

Right on!
Right now I am coming real close to my total skiing days for last year and it's not even February yet!!! Honestly, it's hard to be bummed about the weather right now when I've had so many good days this year and we are bound to have at least a couple more months of real winter and then some KILLER spring skiing!!

And yeah, my car can definitively use a desalting

C'mon people, eat some corn already!

I'm enjoying this episode a lot more than last year. This year, it's an actual January thaw and most places still have a lot of snow, so it's not too bad. Nice to have a couple of days to take it easy and maybe enjoy some spring bumps. Compare this to last year when it wasn't really a January thaw because there was nothing to thaw...

Agree...

It's a lot different when you have several days out already...last year it seemed that the season didn't really begin until late January.

As long as this warm up doesn't last too much longer I don't really have a problem with it. As noted above, the season up to this point has been so good it's hard to be disappointed. Most places still have good coverage and the skiing is pretty good, as long as you like spring conditions...
