When I watch shows of folks trying and failing to climb Everest with oxygen, high tech clothing, ropes and ladders already in place, it amazes me that Sir Edmund was able to reach the summit in 1953. Salute to a true adventurer.

Sir Edmund Hillary did what others before him had thought impossible. He lived to be 88 so apparently some bold climbers do grow old...
