I have no idea how you are supposed to maintain contact in lines like this. When the backsides of the bumps are totally slick, i always go back to the hopping/slamming method. Maybe it doesnt fit into the WC technique that we are "supposed" to use but it works so much better.

Yeah, i noticed the snowmaking whales getting bigger on monday. there are some serious dropoffs in a couple of places. makes for some interesting line choices.

The whales do keep it interesting. The trail is never exactly the same from trip to trip.

Yeah, we'll call it a fog...

My knee is a still soar but I don't think its anything serious. I was in the back seat a lot last night due to the firm bumps and hardpack hiding some troughs. I just didn't feel in control last night which led to me making some bad turns in the NE bumps. Its all good. But as always, good to see the guys and nice to meet the aerodynamic jonnypoach.

Interesting line selection? Bah. You should have seen me on some of those drop offs with one foot in the trough and the other on an oddly shaped bump. Good thing I do Yoga.

I had a few good stretches of somewhat decent skiing. I still had to stop in the middle or make a sweeping line correction every time though. This year's bumps don't lend themself well to smooth top to bottom runs, unlike last year. Good challenge though. I actually wouldn't mind seeing N'E rebuilt too before the final mow-down at the end of February. There is a lot of snow in there. I feel like I've been skiing the same line for the past 5 weeks. New seeds would make it seem like a different run.
