Lost Valley (Auburn, ME) Jan 31, 2008

Date(s) Skied: January 31, 2008

Resort or Ski Area: Lost Valley - Auburn, ME

Conditions: Hardpack

Trip Report: I don't think I have seen a Lost Valley report here before, so I will throw one up. Chaperoned son #2 Middle School Ski Team bus trip to practice. Forgot how gross middle schoolers are on a bus ride.

Anyway - nice little hill and great for training. Up the lift quick and decent pitch to set up training gates on. Yesterday's rain froze solid so things were rock hard... but good practice for the kids. Those that didn't have sharp edges suffered.

They probably have a dozen or so trails. Decent base lodge and cheap lift tickets. Only 240 ft of vertical but it is snow and it goes downhill.

I agree with you it's a fun hill. I have been meaning to make a night trip sometime for memory sake. I stopped by there the first year I was learning to snowboard and the little hill gave me all I could handle. Now I want to go back and do a few victory laps.

I used to coach the Greely Middle School and we trained at Lost Valley. LV does a great job providing hill space for the CCC schools. We raced at Shawnee. Yea, some of the kids are a real pain but we had a tough driver who kept them in their place.

you might get a hole in one.
