| SugarLoaf 12-23 Took myself over to pick up my pass. The weather was beautiful and I could not have picked a better day. The weather men were calling for rain(boy they were not kidding) so I fed the llamas and off I went for my first day out on the hill. I stayed skiers left all day as I had not had the skis tuned and hit some ice on my first run and there weren't much of an edge on those skis. Anyway I did about 16 runs in all. Just got off the lift and blasted down. Had lunch at the Bag and was back out on the slope just in time for the clouds to roll in, but that was fine. Met some really nice folks on the lift and just enjoyed myself .I stayed to the very end as I really like and enjoy that last run down for the day. Take your time, sit a bit and enjoy nature. Boy the ride home always seems so long!!! Te he...40 minutes to Loaf for me know!

| Sugarloaf 1-3-05 Went to Saddleback ME on Sunday (Maine residents $20), wind kicked in end of day, brutal. While they have a ways to go, what a beautiful lodge they are building.... Stayed at Sugarloaf Inn Sunday pm with intentions of skiing Monday. But in am, only a handful of trails open, almost every lift closed, certainly the good ones - due to winds. By mid day quad was open but we'd already traded our pass for another day... Darn.. Long trip to not ski there!! But we did put our 6 year old in a beginner lesson on the lower slope, what an incredible job the staff do there with the kiddos. Since the adults couldn't ski, we watched the progression with the lesson from the warmth of the lodge. |
