Keep the reports coming..
you can stay very cheap in the 7200 area and just take the bus. Try hotwire or priceline, i've gotten decent rooms for under 50 per night this way.

Residence Inn is where Jess and I typically stay when we travel. We've stayed at the Tudor Wharf Residence Inn three times this past month when going to Boston for the night. The rates are always better than the full service Marriotts, yet the rooms are so much better. You're right, basic condo set up and pretty decent cooked breakfast. If not having a restaurant/lounge in a hotel isn't a priority for you, I highly recommend Residence Inns. Most still have decent pools and work out rooms should you desire them.

Me and my buddy will probably just suck it up and pay the extra money to stay slopeside at Snowbird or Alta since it's only for 4 nights. In Jackson I took the 30 minute bus to and from the mountain everyday but I was alone so with two people splitting the room it won't be horrible..nothing like booting up in the hotel room and walking right to the lift and hopefully it snows enough to close the road to the mountain so only the people on mountain can get fresh tracks..or at least I can dream that..lol. It seems like most of the lodges at Alta include breakfast and dinner as well.
