Mt Snow 2/9

Date(s) Skied: 2/9/08 PM

Resort or Ski Area: Mt Snow

Conditions: SNowing, dust on crust to start, 3-5 inches of fresh at the end

Trip Report: My wife and I met up with my brother- and sister-in-law Saturday at noon. Mountain was fairly crowded, North Face was all ice, weather on the Corinthian side was miserable for what those lifts serve, so we spent most of our time on the main face. From noon to 2, conditions were so-so, with the crowding, and the rain/snow mix made the lfts tough. Went in for a snack and a beer at 2, back out at 3, last 4 runs of the day were fantastic. Enough snow had fallen for heroic conditions, and most people had called it a day. Drive home was miserable (4.45 to Boston, 30-40 mph the whole way). Wish we could have stayed overnight- Sunday was probably fantastic. Our dog wouldn't have appreciated it, though.

You should have stayed overnight! Sunday was the best day I've had at Mt Snow in the last 2 years, a true powder day and not too crowded.
The 2-day snow accumulation was over 10" . It took me almost an hour to dig my car out , I hadn't driven it since parking it at the condo Friday night.

I don't know where you were skiing saturday but I had a fabulous day. Plummet, jaws, the trails, ephephany, sap tapper, the boonies and some unnamed stashes were all awesome from early morning on.

Was there Sunday! Holy Shit! mlctvt you know it! No lines really on Sunday either! Deep fresh could be found! Drive down to Mt. Snow from Killington Saturday night was 2 1/2 hours, 4:00 - 6:30pm. Roads were treacherous. Cars all over the place, upside down etc..... along route 100!
What a great day at Snow yesterday! Great day at Killington Saturday!
How about those white out conditions form 10:00 -12:00!!!!!!
Like your choice of trails tree_skier..........................

I didn't take any pictures, figured everyone would be out on this unbelievable weekend!

That was crazy, it must have been coming down at a rate of over 2" and hour! I took a run I had previously taken just a hour earlier and my tracks were completely gone! Nothing like fresh tracks twice in the same day.
My legs were trashed because I skied from 8am until closing both Saturday and Sunday, but I just couldn't stop! It truely was epic! I even overheard one of the race school kids say "isn't this the most perfect day" . When I got home my wife asked how it was? I had to tone it down a bit . She can't ski due to a twisted knee from a week ago and I didn't want to make her feel any worse.
I was tempted to call in sick and stay for today but I'm glad I didn't. I see the summit was on wind hold all day today.
