| Date(s) Skied: Feb 18, 2008 Resort or Ski Area: Snowbasin Conditions: packed powder, powder, upper 30’s, blue sky and plenty of sunshine. bordering on spring conditions Trip Report: Utah Trip Day 3 - Back to Snowbasin today with 9YO daughter and 13 YO son. After a few falls yesterday @ Powder Mountain 9YO D was looking to improve, so much that she was betting mom and dad how many runs she could take without falling. Conditions were similar to Saturday, perhaps a little less powder and a few more bumps showing up. No snow since last Thursday and it was starting to show. Much more crowded today, base gondola line was 15 minutes in the AM, less than 10 in the afternoon. By about 2:00 PM I started to notice some of the main runs were getting skied off. Not icey but serious hard pack. They need a fresh coat of snow, it is expected to hit Thursday. My brother ( a local in UT) says the weather pattern setting up for end of week looks great for producing lots of new snow. Back to Powder Mountain tomorrow. A couple of shots from today showing blue sky |
