Camera Sugarbush 2/15/08

Sorry for the late report but one thing led to another and here it is Tuesday. Would have suggested Sugarbush would be excellent Saturday morning.........
Went on a bus trip out of Boston Friday. Didn't leave til' 7:30 Bluebird skies all the way up 89. Pull in parking lot at 11:00 and it's snowing. Received several inches in places during the day, snowing hard at times. Skied 4.5 hours hard and straight through in great conditions!
Warmed up on Stein's. Was skiing as good as I've ever skied it. Headed to Castlerock and did Castlerock, and Rumble, which had huge bumps but somewhat skied off. Still skiable and very challenging. Did Middle Earth and Cotillion which had much better snow (not as popular) with bumps everywhere, and ripped them up!
Went over to the Gate House quad to North Lynx Triple on an investigative mission. Did Sunrise to Sleeper.
Next to Super Bravo to Heavens Gate, now about 2:30. Couldn't beleive the snow up here! Did Paradise, Organgrinder, and Spillsville twice for our final four runs. Lots of piled up snow on Spillsvile and Organgrinder!
Amazing how much Snow there is in the MRV! Running out of room to put it!

on-piste Bush looks a lot better than on-piste at Stowe for the same day.
I suspect the woods would have been heaven.

True. Didn't have a lot of time, and don't know the Bush as well as I should! Was having fun on-piste so went with the flow. I'll be back up there for the AZ party at least, and maybe before that, so I wasn't that concerned. Was going for the try-to-kick-your-ass-in-4-hours plan.........................

Ain't nothing wrong with on-piste. I think sometimes people get too stuck on the quest for untracked in the woods. Too each his own, I guess, but I'm more than content ripping powder bumps with an occasional foray into the trees.
