| Date(s) Skied: Feb 19, 2008 Resort or Ski Area: Powder Mountain Conditions: packed powder, crusted powder, 40+ degrees, blue sky and plenty of sunshine. Trip Report: Utah Trip Day 4 - Back to Powder Mountain today with 9YO daughter and 13YO son and my brother (lives local in UT). Got pulled over for speeding on way to PM It was HOT today. I can’t believe I am saying it but it was TOO hot. Temp in the mid-40s at 12:30. I had a light jacket and took off layers but figured Feb in UT would be cooler and was wearing my mid-winter pants. Conditions were good but the 4+ old day snow was getting crusty. They had groomed a bit since Sunday but what wasn’t groomed was a little crunchy. Eventually found a little soft powder in some covered woods on the far skier’s right of the mountain off the poma lift. Crowds were non-existent today. My daughter’s group lesson consisted of 2 kids and my daughter was only doing the AM. The other girl got 1:1 for the afternoon. This was the first visit for us to PM. Great mountain terrain, crappy lifts system. They have one high-speed quad and the rest are SLOW. Of course, you could do the “powder country” trip down to the road where the bus picks up but that wasn’t in the cards for us this trip. We bailed around 2 PM to get down to SLC for an evening of tourism. Non-Skiing wife was very patient with us during the trip and deserved a night of non-skiing fun. Flying home tomorrow. a couple of shots from today - http://forums.alpinezone.com/gallery...ry.php?cat=861 |

| Powder is one of my favorite places. Too bad you didn't hit it after a dump. The snow stays around for a week. Every time I've been there it was super cold and deep, which makes riding the lifts..a little chilly. Powder Country is a blast!!
