Be there this weekend. Fresh snow in the forecast and the Red Chair is open to the public!...

Does anyone know why the red chair was shut down? On sunday the liftie wouldnt say anything other than "repairs" which makes me more curious now. Please tell me it wasn't something catastrophic like a chair falling to the ground?

Hate to say it but I always feel a bit like im playing rhoulette when I ride chairs at Magic.

Wink Off Website

The mountain is looking really, really good for tomorrow. We have received 4" of snow as of 4:30pm and it is snowing heavily. We are due to receive anywhere from 8-16" before the system rolls out of town Wednesday evening.
On Wednesday we will be skiing and riding on 38 trails serviced by the Red Chair and the Beginner Handle Tow. Conditions will be powder, more powder and packed powder. Grooming will be minimal tomorrow. We will be grooming a few of the green trails on the East Side and the flat sections getting to and from Magic's classic terrain. The rest of the mountain will be a powder skiers paradise.
To add to the excitement, tomorrow is Car Pool Wednesdays. Load up your car and everyone skis/rides for only $75.00.
See you out there!!

I will be at Magic tomorrow!

From what I've heard the sheave trains on towers 1 and 2 had to be refurbished (off-site), and towers 14 and 19 needed some work. For some reason there was a long period (months) between the return of sheave train 1 and sheave train 2 which held up the start.

I think I know who the liftie told you repairs - he doesn't say much.

I skied Magic a lot of years and don't remember many problems with the Red Chair.
