Belleayre Saturday March 8, 2008 - Rain..... :( (pics & vid)

We knew the forecast was for lots of rain. It rained all the way up last night. We waded from the car to the house. We woke up to fog - but no rain.

The morning at the mountain was uncrowded, of course. It was foggy, and full of buttery heavy snow skiing. Mogul Mash was canceled, slope spies was its usual stupidity. There were so few people there that Potter Bros slope spy people just gave away pink hot sunglasses after lunch to anyone that asked. They are really "quality" glasses - they say "New York Lottery" on the frames. The 80's are back - Ted Liggity would like them.

But - hey - the morning skiing was good and it only drizzled at most.

Ate lunch. Started pouring about noon. Announcements about a 30 minute lift halt for lightning. Then they reopened. Raining hard. Kids played some cards. Adults had a beer. We headed out early and here I am on 31.2kbps dialup.

Well, hopefully we can get some good spring skiing there soon. Was thinking of coming up monday but doubt it's worth the ride.
