Sugarbush - 3/12/08

Date Skied: 3/12/08

Resort or Ski Area: Sugarbush

Conditions: better than expected and improving

Trip Report: I skied for a few hours this afternoon at Lincoln Peak. It was snowing lightly when I arrived and I found conditions better than expected. The groomers had been out in force and while there were some definite icy spots, it was skiable everywhere. Even so, it was hard enough that I thought I would take it easy today.

I warmed up on Gatehouse, moved to Super Bravo for (Upper) Birdland, Spring Fling, Lower Organ Grinder and Downspout. I returned to the Gatehouse for a couple of runs of Sleeper, then spent most of the rest of my time skiing Birch Run and Sunrise off the North Lynx chair. The snow increased as the afternoon went on, becoming nearly heavy by the time I left, and conditions moved from fair to average to good all in the course of one day. I was quite pleased with the stuff off North Lynx at the end of the day.

My wife needed to run a few errands this afternoon so I was forced to bow out at 3:00, much to my regret, or I'd still be skiing until the last lift.
