My best research of this site is that people post a link and write "can a mod please embed"...any other way?

AFAIK it can only be embedded if it's hosted on YouTube or Google Video.

Google example:

YouTube example:

That doesn't seem to make much sense to me. Why does the host have anything to do with the ability of alpinezone.com to embed the video?

Photobucket gives HTML code for embedding that has worked for me elsewhere

Is there an HTML code I need to put before the photobucket-authored code? Is there a way to start a block of html code within a post?

Because we don't allow the embedded of HTML in posts generally. That's a security risk. I've created custom BBCode for YouTube and Google Video. I wouldn't be opposed to doing the same for photobucket if you can provide an example of the code

That would be sweet!! An example of the code provided by Photobucket:

<embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i162.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid162.photobucket.com/albums/t258/jaywbigred/TYC%20-%20AAAJ%20-%20BRECK/MVI_0385.flv">

Thanks for your help guys/Greg!
