This all suggests to me that the "average" skier, and at least a good chunk of the season passholders can certainly afford to pay these prices. Whether they do or not, may, as one writer suggest come down to the quality and offerings. I for one have started a slow move towards the full service restaurants in the lodge, where in the past I never considered them.
Another seemingly bizzarre (to me) trend is that 80% of all skiers fit into the "core" group. Of those, only half are there to ski, the remainder are there for "social reasons". (B. Tabert) |
It may not be a good chunk of the season pass holders, just that a small percentage that ski a lot show up as 30% of the sales. I'd guess 5 average skiers=1 season pass holder.
