I'm a big moe. fan and their tickets are up around $45 these days. I asked a friend who works for the band what amount the band sees and he said roughly $25 and that's split between the band and sound/light/stage crew. Nearly 50% of the costs go to the venue, promoters and ticket agents.
To me, it's no longer worth it. I'll stick to the local scene, pay $15-20 tops to see more talent in a smaller club where the sound is actually good and I can see the musicians up close. | What he said.....
