Mad River Glen 4/5/2008

Resort or Ski Area: Mad River Glen

Conditions: Spring Conditions, icy in the morning, then corn by the aftenoon in spots, fairly soft snow all around.

Trip Report: This was my first time at Mad River Glen, I let Austin talk me into it for a day trip.I met up with Austin just after 7 (about 15 minutes late due to onle one lane being open in the tunnel trhough Boston) then we were on our way. We arrived before 10 and there was a slight drizzle. About an inch or two of snow had fallen previously but it was covered by a fairly hard crust. Fog, lots of fog, really low fog. We met up with Steve and skied the whole day with him. First run down Chute then over to Canyon, fun stuff!Skied mainly all bumps in the morning, then woods/bumps in the afternoon. Seems like a great mountain, constant pitch, excellent woods, great skiers, family atmosphere. The skiers here don't care what you are skiing on but instead how you are skiing. I'll be back.

Nice... I am so rad. I can't remember, did that end in a complete wreck or just a sort of butt slide?

Yes, it is. But personally I liked the added effect of my head dragging across the snow so I picked the last one.
