On the flipside, yesterday (the 14th) had a much bigger crowd than last Monday (the 7th), and hopefully with some nice weather this week, and many schools (at least in CT) having this week off that the weekday day tripper business will help management to decide to go for atleast another week. Then all we need to do is get mother nature to give us a DECENT weather weekend and things will be good. My gut feeling is that if they decide to go past this weekend, that they'll pick up enough extra day ticket buying folks from the "lack of Killington effect" to go atleast weekend only through the 1st weekend of May. And it's this "lack of Killington" effect that might be enough to swing a close call about open/close to the stay open descision. | |

| I agree with the doctor. Not only do you lose Killington as competition, but also Whiteface, Gore, Stratton, Okemo, Sunapee and Loon after this weekend. That leaves Stowe, Sugarbush, Jay, Wildcat, Sunday River and Sugarloaf as the only areas that I am aware of scheduled to operate the weekend of the 27th. Weekend of the 4th will probably be only Sugarbush and Sugarloaf....maybe Wildcat, but I don't think they have the base to make it.
