| | Yay, I have my camera back! Sweet afternoon, beautiful weather. Justin and I got a super early start of 3pm. Obviously with such early start why not try to summit. Anyway, we got up to the summit in slightly under 2 hours, dicked around for like 45 minutes and decided to ski the east snowfields since the south side was cooked. After doing the east snowfields we scurried over to Lakes of the Clouds, then Monroe Brook. We ended up getting back to the car by 6:45 with plenty of daylight to spare (shouldn't have taken another run!) Anyway, awesome day. Going back Saturday. | Ari | Wow, that's going for it, nicely done. Looks like you guys barely beat the sun getting below tree line. How was the bottom of Monroe Brook looking like? Still able to ski out all the way or any hoofing required at lower elevations?

No hoofing yet. Still a good amount of snow in the brook. Probably another week without hoofing or maybe just a quarter mile or so at the very bottom of the trail.

| Ari | Nice. This may go on next week's post work plans on a nice day. Probably just the brook though, doubt I could make that good time to the summit and do the East Snowfields too.

What elevation were you starting from. I've only done tucks once about 15 years ago and I recall the hike in and up the ravine being much longer than that. Is this another side of Washington with a higher access point? Admittedly, I know very little about the mountain's other areas.

18x1000 = 18000 words! Way to get at it! I'm headed up tomorrow. Possibly to Great Gulf or GOS to attempt to avoid Inferno crowds. | |
