Camera Jay Peak 2008-04-19

Date(s) Skied: Saturday April 19, 2008

Ski Area: Jay Peak, VT

Weather: Brilliant sunshine all day long, hardly a cloud in the sky. Temps reached at least 60 at the summit and had to be near 75 at the tram base.

Conditions: Spring Conditions.

Trip Report:

Despite my soar back and tired legs after the bump fest at Sugarbush on Friday, Day #2 of my spring skiing vacation was actually a much better day all around! Jay was fully open, all lifts, all trails and the snow had set up just enough overnight to generate some fine corn snow in the glades.

Skied from 9:30am to until around 3:30pm with a break for a Tram Ale and a cheeseburger while enjoying some of the “pond skimming” competition, which was one of the craziest I’ve seen in years!! Lots of people out on the hill, but never more than a few chairs wait all day long.

Here's some pictures. Enjoy!

Oh it looks so good up there. Any more pictures? I'm stuck here with my 6 week old dying to make some turns, but easing my sorrows with trail reports and photos from the weekend.

That was a great time!

My camera didn't leave the car tho....

Solo drive up from Boston, 4 hours for the most corn in the east? Sunny and 70's, rockin in a t-shirt. My first day at Jay this year, wish I made it up earlier --
