THURSDAY EVENING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY HAS ISSUED A FIRE WEATHER
WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
THURSDAY EVENING FOR ALL OF EAST CENTRAL NEW YORK AND ADJACENT WESTERN
NEW ENGLAND.

A COLD FRONT WILL PASS ACROSS THE REGION LATE WEDNESDAY WITH
LIMITED SHOWER ACTIVITY. IN THE WAKE OF THIS FRONT...DRIER AIR AND
INCREASED NORTHERLY WINDS WILL DEVELOP THURSDAY AFTERNOON. WITH AVERAGE
RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES BETWEEN 15 AND 25 PERCENT AND WIND GUSTS
IN EXCESS OF 20 MPH THURSDAY AFTERNOON...THE POTENTIAL FOR FIRE
WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL INCREASE.

A FIRE WEATHER WATCH MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE FORECAST TO OCCUR. LISTEN FOR LATER FORECASTS AND POSSIBLE
RED FLAG WARNINGS.

Will be a few days at least still...

My cousin is a volunteer firefighter and spent a good part of the weekend battling brush fires in Burlington.

I was just thinking today how dry things are. Just turned on the irrigation system today and its running as I type this.

Pretty typical for April... no vegetation yet so any lack of rain dries things up fast.

Also means Pollen counts will be through the roof.

Damn non-winter season.

it's crazy dry here in PA..I hope it keeps up because the golf balls will roll farther..

Same here..but it is still April..and the northeast and New England regularly sees frost well into May..I'm glad it's cooled down..only 51 degrees here in the A..It was too freaking warm last week..I needed AC in my car..
