Angry Snowbird 4/27 Last Day?

Hi guys.
After finding most of Snowbird rather crusty if not outright frozen early Saturday (I saw a snowboarder literally slide most of the way down Big Emma on his butt because he simple couldn't catch enough backside edge to get up on his feet), I delayed getting up there until around 11:00 AM today. It was a good call. After parking at Creekside I did a couple of runs top to bottom on Gadzoom. The bright sun had started to do a good job of softening all the groomed trails. I met a lovely young lady on my third ride up and we decided to run over to the Peruvian lift and the tunnel and check out Mineral Basin. The sun had definitely done its work there and things were pretty soft. We skied the basin for about an hour and then went back over toward Creekside for some turns until thirst got the best of us. A couple of beers on the sunny patio was a nice way to finish out day 65 of my season.

When I posted this on FTO I didn't think it might be my last day of the season. I was planning to hit Snowbird a few more times after I got back to UT from the east coast. But,it looks bad for me at the moment. I'm actually sitting in my BIL's kitchen on Long Island where I am currently visiting. I am actually on crutches from sciatic pain shooting down my right leg. I have no idea what caused it, but the way it feels at the moment I will be lucky to walk normally again in the next month. Man...old age sucks sometimes.
