The subrtracting will always give you a multiple of 9. 9, 18, 27, 36...... Look at all the multiples of 9 on the chart, they all have the same symbol.

Ok, I was completely wrong, but I blame it on my inability to do math rather than my logic. I was looking for that trick going in, but somehow, from 79 I got 60, and from 67 I got some other number than 54.

After quickly looking at the chart, I figured it out before they even showed the symbol. Unimpressive.
