What helps for me is that in middle school, I was perpetually way, way, WAY, too depressed. When I finally came out of it, I looked back and realized that there were a lot of things that were good in my life that I was just ignoring all along. Ever since, I just haven't really let crap get to me - not due to a conscious effort, it just doesn't bother me that much. This isn't advice (I've tried using it as such, and it doesn't work,) but maybe an offering of hope for a better, and more consistently happy, tomorrow.

I love my camelback (actually, it's a Nalgene, but whatever) for that stuff. Even on short rides where I'm using a bottle for water, I keep my keys, cell phone, spare tube, tire pump, etc. in there with a dry bladder, or even no bladder.

Excellent advice!

I have a tendency to wallow in self-pity when depressed. That doesn't help anything. And sitting around only accomplishes one thing - allowing you to over-think. So yup, keeping active is helping right now. Hope for a happy future helps, too.

I actually have a Camelback for biking but Brian took the bladder from it last year and never got around to replacing it so I didn't use it on my last ride. I will be sure to bring it next time though.

Just look on Steepandcheap, they have them all the time. I purchased extra ones just because the price is right and they come out cheaper than buying bladders at the store.

..Have to agree with cbcbd on this one.. No matter what interesting things are now going on inside(working on a timber-framed house or fixing the OC-1(ww canoe), doing a little math..)..just getting outdoors in these spring mornings, days & eves is the best..fast, medium, or ultra slow paced....on par with skiing in winter.

Guess I have to check in with all the TRs I missed...later tonight.... So severine..I'm wondering what the heck Arapahoe Basin is doing as your avatar..? So when did you get out there in the country? ...and if you actually DID go, how fat did you go in the skis..?

Abasin 5/9-5/11

Last weekend! I brought my Marie Martinod Dynastars (78mm waist), which I used Sun for the groomers. But in the fresh powder, Trekchick let me use her Blizzard Titan Eos. (Then tried to sell them to me. ) I believe those are 88mm waist.

I shouldn't be feeling down with that in my recent past... but there's a lot going on right now.
