| Wachusett 2/4/05 Date(s) Skied: 2/4/05 Resort or Ski Area: Wachusett Mountain, MA Conditions: PAcked Powder, Bumpy Trip Report: Not as many animals in the zoo as last night, but it was still jam packed again. The summit trails were very bumpy before grooming and were getting there again late evening. Balance Rock/Conifer: Balance Rock was nice. Flat unlike the others and the snow was decent besides sparse coverage in some areas on the upper part. The turn off of Roper's Road was glare ice. Conifer was VERY bumpy before grooming. Like St. Patty's Day last March, the conditions made it a true intermediate trail! I never went down it after grooming. 10th: The non-mogul half was bumpy after grooming, which was the only time I went down it. I never went down lower. The bumps didn't look bad, but I only went down it once and that was the groomed half. Smith: Took it right after grooming and it was MINT. Beautiful pack the whole way down and fast. I heard only good things about this one today which is a rarity. Ralph's: Found a nice trail in the woods beside it which seemingly lasted the whole trail. As for when I was actually on the trail, it was same as usual, natura; jumps and nice pack. Sundowner: The spine is awesome, but there's no way to get any air off the little jumps. There was a little in-and-out of the woods near the bottom which had a ncie rock to jump down at the exit. Fun. |
