As much as the drive fantastic, my experience with Audi/VW as well as all of my friends have been very expensive in terms of maintenance.

If there's one thing that drives me nuts it's car maintenance. I bet my next car purchase will be something along the lines of a Toyota Corrolla.....no frills, cheap to maintain and good gas mileage.

It does seem like vw/audi never score well on consumer reports. I can't speak because I've never owned one but have heard some pretty bad stories.

What's weird is that Jetta's have one of the highest resale values of any car on the market.

They did a fantastic job of creating a cult-like following. They maybe sell so big used because they have such a young audience that tends to buy used vehicles-just a guess.

true dat !!! Had NO problems selling my 2 Jetta's in private sales but havent had a VW in now 15 yrs

I've been Saabin since '88 with no problems at all had 88 and 92 900 's 03 9.3 SS and 07'Sport combi Just got 34.5 mpg on a 1000 miler pretty happy also with 3 yrs free maint . Spent zero zap nada on my 03 then traded it on 07 -- still got my '92 Turtle back turbo and luv it for my daily wheels

18/25 mpg's is totally unacceptable in this day and age.Oil was 130 a barrel this morning which mean another bump at pumps this AM.

$4.07 this morning....all my audi/vw's havent been bad on mtce, nothing major...will replace my audi with another or a subie....the volvo wagon xc70 is great, when that lease is up might head over to the minivan segment (wife's car) more room, throw on some dedicated snows....
