FWD only, not much space, and only available in an automatic. Looks akward. Meh.

The Jetta sportwagon looks more interesting and useful.

Edit: looking at the spec list there is no indication of 4WD, but there are some options with 4-motion at the top end. Standard only with the base model and no 4-motion.

Microcars were big in the postwar 50's and 60's. Check out some of these gems. There's a BMW Isetta.

Unfortunately VW build quality as of late not what it used to be . Have had several 2 Jettas and Golf in the past always had "issues "

The Toureg is not recommended by consumer reports as matter of fact was considered a used vehicle to avoid

My buddy with the suspended licence (DUI) has one. Maintenance on them is very expensive. Its a V8 so it's a fuel hog, and it needs a high performance balance. The tires are only good for about 12,000 miles. It rides nicely, we took it to Whiteface in Feb. I like the styling of the Toureg better than the Cayenne, but wouldn't want to own either one.

They are AWD. But they are very small inside. I went with the new 09 Forester myself, much more room, better reliability and cheaper cost of ownership. I have had about 15 VW's along with the same amount of Subies...Gimme a Subie for better AWD any time.

We used to be vw people. Still have an old Golf that's a POS. Got an Outback now and will likely replace the Golf with a minivan (toyota or honda) in the next year or so.

Subs I had: 83 DL5 SW, 82 GL4 4WD SW, 83 GLA SW, 85, 86 BRAT, 88 Justy GL 4WD 5sp, 90 Legacy L+ AWD SW, 96 Outback SW, 98 Outback LTD SW, 00 2.5 RS Coupe, 99 Forester 06 Leg SE SW Current:09 Forester X Prem, 00 Leg SW

Dubs I had: 63,67,69 Bug, 69 Conv., 73 SuperBeetle, 83 Rabbit Wolfsburg, 84 GTI, 93 Golf III, 94 Passat VR6 wagon, 00 NB GLX, 92 Passat CL 01 A4 Avant 2.8Q 5 sp.

I know.."never say never", but I cannot see getting another VW..unless I find a nice early 90's Mk1 based Cabriolet for a toy. I would love another 84 GTI, they are jsut either "molested" or stupid expensive and the Cabriolet has the same drivetrain and a drop top.

Test drove one last night... It drove pretty much like the 2004.. The hood seems higher.. More interior gadgets... Still tons of room inside.. Don't feel cramped at all...
