| Mount Snow - 2/6/05 Resort: Mount Snow Date Skied: 02/06/05 Conditions: 40 degrees or warmer, lots of sun, no wind 10+++ day! Trip Report: Today Mount Snow was offering a 8am to 1pm ticket for $55. I was talked in to going so I went. The first run was the Canyon off of the Canyon Express. Although lines grew, the lifties corraled groups of 4 in an efficient manner. First tracks was down on freshly groomed snow. As the skier traffic increased the hard surfaces started to show. We the took the Grand Summit Express up and did a couple of top to bottom runs (Exhibition and Ledge and Lodge). The lines grew at this lift so one run we took the Summit Local triple to the summit. There was no line. We did a run at Sunbrook, where the snow was starting to soften up. The bumps were great at Beartrap. The Beartrap and Sunbrook lifts had no lines. After Beartrap we worked over to Northface where we found the best skiing for the remainder of our time there. We would alternate between the two triple lifts to do Challenger, Fallen Timbers and Free Fall. We saw Ripcord from below which was open and bumped up. The snow was great on Northface. For the last run we headed back to Sunbrook to do Beartrap. The snow was like mashed potatoes on a trip down. It felt like an April day over there. All in all it was an awesome day! My only regret with Mount Snow is the fact that I did not buy the Bronze pass. I loved the place and will go back even at $68. | rivercoil...This was a special. They do not offer a morning ticket 1/2 day ticket. 12 to 4pm would be $46 and this was 8 to 1 at $55. The full day ticket would of been $68. This is where the $349 Bronze pass makes sense! There was an exodus of people leaving after 1pm, whether or not they were the $55 people like me or passholders, I could not tell. I wish they did offer a Sunday morning special, because I may skip church in the morning to go. |

| wow, i didn't know mount snow's lift ticket were up that close to the dreaded $70 mark. a morning half day pass is very rare and considering their full day ticket price, sounds like a great deal considering everyone was heading home early today. $349 is defintiely a no brainer if you enjoy the ASC mountains, that only takes 6 times to break even at MS

| Mount Snow is a great place to spring ski. Northface gets less sun exposure than the rest of the mountain and retains the snow longer. Most trails fill with bumps like the ones on Beartrap. The only "slush" skiing would be at the end of the day or whenever you go back to the main base lodge. From my trips there, the crowds tend to stay away from the NF. Perhaps it's the steepness & challenges of the terrain. There are two triple lifts there and on this past Sunday as gorgeous as it was we never waited in a lift line at NF, Beartrap double or the Sunbrook Quad . Check lift rates in March, they may go down a bit. If you go let know, I and some others may join you! Tim |
