I love boarders and gapers and even the table moms who "reserve" whole tables for their entourage. I even love those folks who buy their $1M "cottage" and use it one week a year. Their money keeps the lifts turning and snow on the trails. There are plenty of acres, stashes and weekday hours to call it my own private reserve. Even on weekends, there is always a place to hide....

Not sure if I agree with that. Going up on singles, I heard plenty from riders about techniques on carving that board. And the same with gear, some prefer a softer versus a harder or longer versus shorter depending on conditions.

My take, some people like to take it to another level while others are happy with where they are.

Don't get me wrong, there's some technique stuff that has been great for my skiing, I'm just saying the attitude seems more laid back for snowboarders.

I personally think it would probably be a blast to hit deep pow on a board... but most stuff I do and enjoy involves mountain travel... and snowboards just suck at that.
That's because advanced/expert skiing is way harder than advanced/expert snowboarding.

I know .. and it is probably way harder for skiers to tie their shoe laces too .. What I am saying is that each form of downhill sliding has it's own set of skills to be mastered .. a person might find one form of sliding more difficult to master than another .. just more of the same skier elitism quoted above ..

I don't think that's true....You're just too busy skiing by groups of snowboarders sitting on their a$$es talking "technique" ("I like to stand sidewise when sliding down the hill"...."Me too!!!") or debating the latest baggy pant fashions....

(To be clear....Just joshing! I got nuthin' but love for anyone hitting the slopes to enjoy the snow. This thread seemed to be inviting this type of skier elitism....)

Weren't skis invented thousands of years before snowboards? I know people who are great snowboarders. It's not the skis or snowboards, skiers do more stupid things than snowboarders. It was a SKIER who pulled out without looking and put me in the hospital. It was a SKIER who caused a snowboarder friend of mine to break his nose. So, I guess it's the moron not the equipment. It's not the car, it's the driver. Ed.

Snowboarding is tough to learn but easy to get good at..

I think snowboarding has less moving parts to deal with.
