My take, some people like to take it to another level while others are happy with where they are.
Yeah, its probably true for both and I probably just don't hang out enough with boarders to hear these talks.

But dunno... snowboarding just seems simpler once you have the basics. Eh, maybe one day I'll pick one up.

This is what I've always heard. Since I've never tried snowboarding I don't know personally but I've heard this from many people & believe it to be true.

It's mainly due to balance...
Easy to balance with separate legs and poles... It's the reason snowboarders are forced to sit all the time... Contrary to the popular belief...

After 20 years of skiing I switched to snowboarding last year. I was pretty much bored with skiing. At this point I don't think I'll ever go back to skiing.

My philosophy on the issue is that it's personal preference. I've been told that snowboarders can't do moguls, destroy groomed trails, are a general disgrace to winter sports, and my favorite "snowboarders don't have any fun". I disagree. I have a blast every day, I love moguls, and if I'm "destroying a groomed run" something is really wrong with me.

On the most basic levels i believe boarding is easier than skiing but it's entirely different. Each day brings new challenges and I look forward to that.
